The Governing Board of the Arizona City Fire District will meet in Regular Session on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at 14022 S. SUNLAND GIN ROAD ARIZONA CITY, AZ 85123. The Board may vote to go into executive session on any agenda item, pursuant to A.R.S. § 38- 431.03(A)(3), (A)(4) for legal advice and to consult with its attorney on the matter as set forth in the agenda item. Board Members, other participants, or the general public may attend by telephonic conference. The following topics, and any matters related thereto, will be subject to Board consideration, discussion, approval, or other action. All items are set for possible action.

  1. Correspondence: Recent correspondence or other information that the Fire Chief believes would be important to the Governing Board.

 

  1. Consent Agenda: (All the items under the consent agenda will be approved under one motion unless one of the Governing Board members pulls an item(s) for further discussion)

9. Call to the Public:

Comments from the public: Those wishing to address the Arizona City Fire District Board need to request permission in advance by filling out a “request to address the Board

card”. The District Board is not permitted to discuss or take action on any item raised in the call to the public. However, individual Board members may be permitted to respond to criticism directed to them. Otherwise, the Board may direct that staff review the matter or that the matter be placed on a future agenda. The District Board cannot discuss or take legal action on any issue raised during the Call to the Public due to restrictions of the Open Meeting Law.

 

10. Old Business:

 

a. Discussion and Possible Action re: Replacement for CPA Firm; Saunders (Board Chairman Dean Craun/ Fire Chief Jeffrey Heaton).

b. Executive Session: Pursuant to A.R.S. Section 38-431.03(A)(3)(4), the Arizona City Fire District Board may go into executive session to seek legal advice and direction regarding the potential financial and legal liability concerning the District.

c. Discussion and Possible Action. The Board may vote on whether to retain a third party independent investigator to review the actions of the Board and the Fire Chief as it relates to the Fire Chief’s Employment Contract, Personnel Policies and Procedures, and District Expenditures.

d. Discussion and Possible Action. Conflict of Interest / No Disclosure, Removal of Fitzgibbons Law Offices, P.L.C., Denis M. Fitzgibbons. (Board Clerk Allen Rogers)

We elect them in Public Trust

1st, all governing bodies are subject to operation under 1. The Law 2. Bylaws of said organization.
